How clutch.gift works

1. Make your list

Verify your phone with a one-time text code, then drop wishes: paste a link from any store, type the price you saw, crank the hype meter (1–5 🔥), add a sticker, and drag your top 3.

2. Share one link

Drop your gift crew link in your family and friends group chats. The link only opens a join page. Each person verifies their own phone with one text code and they're in. No approvals, no waiting. You see their first names, never their picks. If the link ends up somewhere it shouldn't, reset it from your list so the old link stops working, then remove anyone you don't know from your crew. Removed people lose access, and any dibs they hadn't bought go back on the list.

3. Family and friends call dibs

Gifters call dibs with a 3, 7 or 14-day hold, get reminders, and tap “Bought it” to lock the gift. Holds that run out go back on the list automatically. Any gifter can put a big gift in the parents' lane so nobody else buys it.

4. The surprise stays a surprise

Your side of the app never receives who called dibs or what was bought. That's enforced on our servers, not just hidden on screen. Your own number can't open the gift crew side. On Reveal Day (the day after your event: Dec 26 for Christmas, the day after the first night for Hanukkah, Easter Monday, or the day after the date you pick for a birthday, mitzvah, graduation or any day) you can choose to see who gave what for thank-you notes.

Who it's for

List owners are 13 or older. For younger kids, a parent makes and holds the list.

Run as many lists as you need: different kids, different events.

Parent-managed lists (“My kid”)

When a parent makes a list for their kid, they pick “My kid” at setup. The parent adds and ranks the wishes and can see who called dibs and what was bought so nobody doubles up. Gifters are told that before they call dibs. The choice can be switched until the invite link is created, then it locks. Gifters still verify their phone with a text code. On Reveal Day the parent gets the thank-you list and can choose to show it to the kid.

Thank-you texts

On Reveal Day each buyer card has a “💌 Text thank you” button. It opens your own messages app with an editable note (“Thank you so much for the…!”) addressed to that gifter; the “Mom & Dad” card has a button for each parent. On a computer you get the number and a copy button instead. When you come back, tap “Yes” to tick them off. clutch.gift sends nothing. You only see numbers of people who bought, only on Reveal Day.

Get your friends on clutch.gift

Once you've shared your list, you get your own friend link. When a friend opens it, verifies their phone, makes their own list and adds at least one wish, that counts as a friend joined. Rewards are new looks for your list. 1 friend unlocks a new sticker pack; 3 unlock exclusive icons and the Aurora list theme; 5 unlock a Trendsetter 👑 badge your gifters see; 10 unlock a rare animated sticker and Stardust confetti. Your own number never counts, each new owner counts once, and there's a daily cap. You see how many friends joined, plus a first name only if that friend chose to share it. You never see their list or number.
